Dental Technology Can Do Amazing Things For Your Smile

We continue to invest in dental technologies that allow us to diagnose more thoroughly and to offer more comfortable and efficient dental treatment.

Health Focused Dentistry and Orthodontics

Once upon a time, people who needed complex dental procedures had to endure mouthfuls of goop to make impressions, dentists trying to see into the mouth with mirrors held at strange angles, and invasive treatments that took many appointments. Comprehensive Family Dental would love to show you just how much things have changed for the better!

3D Imaging

Highly detailed CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) imaging allows so much more clarity than we can see on other forms of dental digital x-rays. This improves diagnosing and treatment planning for a number of different dental procedures including implant placement, TMJ disorder treatment, orthodontic planning, root canal therapy, and more.

Cerec Same-Day Crowns

CEREC same-day crowns are a revolutionary new way of restoring dentition in one day. Using advanced computer-aided design and manufacturing technology, a CEREC same-day crown is created from a quick digital scan of the patient’s teeth and then milled from a single block of porcelain.

CEREC technology allows us to custom-fabricate crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, and onlays in just one appointment without ever leaving the office, eliminating the need for messy putty or temporary crowns. CEREC uses 3-D technology to create digital models for the restoration to be fabricated and customized.

Constructed of metal-free materials, CEREC restorations are created to the exact specifications for your individual need—down to a color match with the rest of your smile.

Laser Dentistry

There are a number of different dental treatments where we can utilize laser therapy. Lasers are excellent at photobiomodulation which promote pain relief and reduce healing time for patients.

Some dental treatments that lasers can assist with:

Cold sore and ulcer treatments to reduce or eliminate outbreaks and for pain relief
TMJ pain and painful associated muscles to promote healing and pain relief Cold Laser TMJ therapy
Tied tissue releases (i.e. frenectomies)
Diagnodent laser cavity detection to detect early cavities difficult to see on x rays
Periodontal “gum” therapy (no cutting) used postprocedurally to kill bacteria deeper than the reach of current instrumentation to promote faster healing

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are far more accurate than film x-rays once were. They have the ability to capture more detail, detecting minor issues earlier so treatment can be more proactive. They are safe, quick, convenient, and can be taken and viewed right from the dental chair, so patients can evaluate them right along with our doctors.

Air Abrasion Drill Less Cavity Preparation

Air abrasion drill less cavity preparation is a minimally invasive alternative to traditional dental drills. It works by using compressed air to spray fine particles of aluminum oxide onto the surface of the tooth in order to remove decayed material. Additionally, air abrasion can reduce noise levels compared to traditional drills, lessen patient fear, and minimize trauma to surrounding areas. The technique also eliminates the need for anesthetic since there is no vibration or heat associated with it.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras allow easy doctor-patient communication to assess and diagnose dental issues. Images are quickly and comfortably taken inside the mouth which allows the patient to have a clear view of the condition of their mouth. Once the images are taken, they are moved to a computer screen in front of the patient to view. This allows each patient or patient’s parents to have an increased understanding of what treatments plans we recommend all while sitting in the dental chair.
